MARKET TRADER ASSISTANT

Metamorphic Charm is a wonderful independent jewellery business established in 2016, selling handmade jewellery alongside teaching silversmithing workshops. We currently sell our products in-store, online and through a series of market stalls around the Midlands.

If you are passionate about jewellery, great with people and have experience in sales, then we want to hear from you! We are looking for a number of confident people to join our sales team representing our business, with full training given on our products and services. 

Markets are a really fun environment which can get busy at times. The need to be flexible, adaptable and open to working in different environments is a must. You may work on an indoor or outdoor market, at a festival, fair or show, at a number of different locations.   

You need to be comfortable with physically demanding work, as it may involve lifting and carrying stock and long periods of standing and serving behind a market stall. 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
• Travelling to Markets with display and stock
• Greeting customers 
• Assisting shoppers to find the products they are looking for 
• Answering queries from customers 
• Giving advice on product selection to customers 
• Merchandising of products on the market stall 
• Involvement in stock control and management 
• Receiving and storing stock deliveries 
• Reporting discrepancies and problems to the supervisor 
• Being responsible for processing cash and card payments 
• Dealing with customer refunds 
• Assisting with the delivery of sales promotions 
• Ensuring security is maintained to protect against theft and fraud  

SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Comfortable working with members of the public 
• A friendly and engaging personality 
• Commercially minded with good negotiation skills 
• A confident manner 
• Sales focused and able to promote their stall creatively 
• Able to work as part of a sales team 
• Helpful and polite 
• Physically fit
